Your Ultimate Sunday Awaits in Ibiza: From Secret Coves to Sunset Cocktails

What’s the perfect way to wrap up a sun-kissed Sunday in Ibiza? Head to the iconic Blue Marlin in Cala Jondal, the ultimate hotspot for those in the know. Perhaps you danced the night away on Saturday? Recharge your batteries with a day of sailing, basking in the Mediterranean sun on deck with your favorite chill-out tunes, refreshing juices, vibrant fruits, light salads, and tasty snacks. This route from Ibiza to Cala Jondal (and back!), with stops at Escavallet, Cala Pluma, Salinas, and Punta Rama, takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours by boat.

Your journey begins in the port of Ibiza, where you’ll cruise around the historic Dalt Vila, offering stunning views of the ancient fortress and the charming La Marina neighborhood – a picture-perfect moment! Continue past Figueretas and Playa d’en Bossa until you reach Es Cavallet, a prime spot for anchoring if the wind is in your favor. Here, you’ll find an array of beachside restaurants, including La Escollera at the start of the beach, followed by El Chiringuito, and further along, past the nudist area, you’ll find Chiringay.

After Es Cavallet, passing the Punta de sa Torre de ses Portes, crowned by the Ses Portes tower, you’ll discover the secluded gem of Cala Pluma – a completely unspoiled, natural cove without any buildings or beach bars. Following Cala Pluma are a series of other charming coves in the Es Pouet de Sa Trinxa area: natural, wild, nudist-friendly, and uncrowded. Typically, if the wind isn’t ideal in the Escavallet area, it’s perfect in Es Pouet de Sa Trinxa and the Salinas beach area. If you set sail without having lunch, both Es Cavallet and Ses Salines offer a plethora of dining options.

The first beach bar you’ll encounter on your way to Blue Marlin, on the shores of Ses Salines beach, is Sa Trinxa, known for its fantastic afternoon vibes. Other excellent choices include Jockey, Malibú, and Guaraná, the last one along the stretch.

Leaving behind Ses Salines beach, Punta de Sa Cova Larga, and Punta des Canal de s’Olla, located in Cabo Falcó, you’ll arrive at Punta Rama. If the wind conditions allow, this is an idyllic spot to anchor, offering breathtaking views of the cliffs of Cap des Falcó. Accessible only by boat, you’ll enjoy a truly exclusive and tranquil anchorage. The dramatic cliffs continue until you reach Es Codolar beach, home to the trendy Experimental Beach, the perfect place to sip on cocktails or mojitos while watching Ibiza’s magical sunset. This expansive pebble beach (no sand outside, but plenty in the water!) is the largest on the island. It’s so close to the airport that you can witness planes landing at a surprisingly close distance.

Between Es Codolar and Punta des Jondal, you’ll find the renowned Cala Jondal and Blue Marlin, along with countless charming coves, including Sa Caleta and Es Bol Nou. We highly recommend the Sa Caleta restaurant, also famous for its “café caleta,” a unique local coffee recipe with brandy, rum, lemon, and orange.
