Formentera Illetas Navigation Route

If you’re looking for a spectacular day out on the water without breaking the bank, this is the route for you! We present a classic journey between Ibiza and Formentera that’s sure to delight. This highly popular route is known for its efficiency, consuming less fuel than other options. With an estimated sailing time of just 1.5 hours, depending on whether you stop for the first anchoing at the island of Espalmador or direct to Illetas Beach. You’ll have plenty of time to relax, anchor, and soak up the sun at your favorite beach bar. It’s the most popular boat trip between Ibiza and Formentera for a reason!

Formentera Illetas Navigation Route 1

This route sets sail from Ibiza’s harbor, offering a scenic tour around Dalt Vila, Figueretas, and Playa d’en Bossa before arriving at the vibrant Es Cavallet. From here, your captain can extend the adventure with a stop at the hidden gem of Cala Pluma. Alternatively, you can anchor at the iconic Salinas Beach for a more lively experience. Once you’ve soaked up the Ibizan vibes, set sail directly for the island of Espalmador for your first swim stop. Afterward, head to the stunning Illetas beach for a second dip before making your way back to Ibiza, enjoying a breathtaking sunset along the way. For those seeking more time in Formentera, we recommend heading straight to Espalmador, as Cala Pluma and Salinas can easily be explored by land on another day.

Formentera Illetas Navigation Route 2

This short route takes you to the most beautiful spots in Formentera, with its crystal-clear turquoise waters. Your captain will keep you informed about fuel consumption in real-time, ensuring an efficient and cost-effective journey. Enjoy a full 8 hours at your disposal to explore this stunning island. Please note that fuel consumption, shown in liters or euros per hour, refers to the time the engine is running. When anchored, the engine is typically off, except for brief maneuvers.

At the stunning beach of Illetes, where we anchor for our second swim, you’ll find a fantastic selection of restaurants to satisfy your cravings. Starting from the closest to the island of Espalmador and ending near the port of La Savina, the order is as follows: Es Ministre, Juan & Andrea, Pirata, Es Moli de Sal, Tiburón, Beso. And as a new addition in 2024, almost reaching the port of La Savina, you’ll find Cala Dúo in Cala Sa Sequi. Enjoy the unique experience of dining barefoot in the sand, while spotting familiar faces and perhaps even some international celebrities. The menus offer a delicious blend of Mediterranean, Spanish, and seafood dishes.

Formentera Illetas Navigation Route 3

The most economical and convenient way to have lunch in Formentera is bringing your own food and having a picnic on the boat. We recommend cold food that is easy to prepare, doesn’t require cooking over a flame or finishing up, and doesn’t need too many cutlery. For example, sandwiches, salads, snacks, and fruit. Eating on board will allow you to enjoy the boat more. Don’t forget about the captain! You can also opt to hire a boat catering service and not have to worry about a thing.

Chartered boats with crew often include complimentary amenities such as water, soft drinks, ice, and towels. It’s essential to confirm what’s included before check-in to tailor your trip to your preferences. For boat rentals without a skipper, amenities might vary, so always double-check with your agent. Feel free to bring your own bottles for cocktails, chilled wines, and snacks to personalize your experience. As a tip, light-colored drinks are recommended to avoid staining the upholstery or teak deck.

A day boat rental typically lasts 8 hours, so it’s important to plan your day accordingly. If you want to catch the sunset or spend plenty of time at your favorite beach bar, we recommend starting your rental around 12 PM or 1 PM. This way, you’ll get the most out of your time on the water without paying for extra hours.
