Formentera Cala Saona Navigation Route
Exploring the West Side of the Formentera
Are you ready for an unforgettable experience? Set sail with us from the port of Ibiza, where you’ll be greeted by spectacular views of the ancient city of Dalt Vila. As we cruise along, you’ll pass by the popular Playa d’en Bossa and the beach of the natural park Es Cavallet. Depending on your schedule, we’ll make our first stop at the secluded Cala Pluma or the famous Salinas beach, perfect for a refreshing dip.
Our first major destination in Formentera is the breathtaking Espalmador islet, part of the Ses Salines Natural Park that stretches from Ibiza to Formentera. Here, the crystal-clear waters and pristine white sand will leave you in awe. Take a refreshing swim in the sea or explore the shore with a paddleboard!

The Wonders of Espalmador
The island of Espalmador, a protected area within the Ses Salines Natural Park, is a true sanctuary for nature lovers. You can reach its shores by swimming or paddleboarding, taking a leisurely stroll along the beach while respecting the delicate dune ecosystem. Remember, this is a protected natural area, and it’s crucial to leave no trace of your visit.
Navigating the Turquoise Waters: The Enchanting Pas des Trocadors
Between Espalmador and Formentera lies the Pas des Trocadors, a vast stretch of sand that connects the two coasts. While some adventurous souls attempt to walk from one island to the other, we advise against it. The distance is long, the water can be deep, and there are strong currents.
Sun, Sea, and Celebrity Spotting: The Glamorous Illetas Beach
Our journey continues to the renowned Illetas Beach, where you can unwind on the deck of our boat and soak up the sun as we anchor in the turquoise waters. Keep an eye out – you might even spot a celebrity enjoying this slice of paradise!
Indulge in Culinary Delights: The Exquisite Restaurants of Illetas
The northernmost area of Illetas is a haven for nudists, offering the perfect opportunity to achieve an all-over tan. When hunger strikes, we’ll head to one of Illetas’ exceptional restaurants for a memorable dining experience.
During peak season, securing a table can be challenging, so we recommend booking in advance. But don’t worry, even if you’re making last-minute plans, your captain can always contact the restaurants via radio to try and find a spot for you.
A Gastronomic Journey: From Es Ministre to Cala Dúo
Starting with the closest restaurant to Espalmador Island and ending with the one closest to La Savina port, here’s a quick guide to the culinary hotspots of Illetas: Es Ministre, El Pirata, Juan & Andrea, Es Molí de Sal (with an interior dining area and terrace offering a more classic ambiance and exquisite cuisine), El Tiburón, Beso Beach, and the newest addition, Cala Dúo in Cala Sa Sequi. Dining with your feet in the sand is an unforgettable experience, and you might even spot some familiar faces or international stars. The menus feature a delectable blend of Mediterranean and local dishes, with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood.
